Making films hasn't ever seemed like a choice to Rollo, who since the age of 14 hasn't been without some form of filmmaking implement. He spent the last ten years directing commercials, title sequences and music videos for clients such as The Prodigy, the Black Kids and the BBC. In 2008 he returned to New Zealand to focus on writing and directing his own films and working with a community of filmmakers in Wellington. He also co-owns a production company, HoverLion.

Gemma Freeman | producer
Coming from the high-pressure world of book publishing, Gemma attacks film production with an uncannily detailed eye and a sense for anything that isn't quite 'right'. Her passion for film is lifelong, although she's only become involved professionally in the last two years. In that short time she has produced numerous film projects which have been seen across the world. She still works as a copyeditor on a freelance basis, which you can find out more about here.

Alpha Bristol Films
We founded Alpha Bristol Films in 2010 as an umbrella for the films we make together. It all started when Gemma offered to lend a hand getting some of Rollo's scripts off the ground, and before we knew it, we were registering with the companies office and whipping up a website. We're currently making short films and have two feature films in development.
We are lucky to work with talented, generous people within the local film industry, and enjoy making new connections on each project.
